Here’s to the final quarter of the year. September is behind us as we plough forward to see out what is historically the busiest period of the year for completions - with a real rush to ‘be in’ by Christmas!

The reality of course is that very few sales agreed from October onwards will complete before the end of the year - unless you are buying a property with no related or connected sale, then it is wholly possible.

My advice, in this market - move if you have to or delay until the new year if you can. There is far too much stock being carried by a market that is not moving at the same pace. Properties are coming to market faster than they are being sold.
This creates choice and when there is choice, it is only the most attractively priced properties that generate the necessary interest. Still to this day, the best priced properties are selling - you do have a choice ladies and gents.

If you are serious about buying, do not be put off and wait for price reductions (we have already seen 269 of these in September) - get your offers in, I have always said that firm offers focus the mind and the amount of times I have heard “we won’t sell for less than that” - only to be faced with a firm offer ‘less than that’ and getting the sale agreed - I could write a book on!
